Today, I was thinking of doing a card, on which I only wanted to use rectangle shaped PP.
And here's what I came up with.
I cut some rectangle's of PP and I cut out my bird.
Distressed and inked all their edges. Choose my sentiment.
Added some Gesso (using my finger as brush) to the smallest rectangle, to create a highlighted spot for my sentiment. Set it aside to dry.
I took a piece of tule, which was as wide as my card is, and ruffled it to the double sided adhesive.
Placed my first piece of PP
Placed my second piece of paper.
glued my tule and added pearl strand. Glued it down using hot glue.
stamped my sentiment with Archival ink. Archival ink is a permanent ink, and will stay
on the gesso-ed spot.
Glued my bird in place.
cut some cardboard to raise my sentiment and glued it to the back.
made a bow out of tule and glued it in place, using hot glue.
glued my sentiment in place.
made some flowers, using Tim Holtz's pinecone die.
glued my flowers in place and added some punched leaves.
glued my last flower in place and called it done!!!
How did I get these flowers in shape?
I cut PP with the pinecone die. Inked up the edges.
started to pinch the little petals in the middle.
looks like this
then I shaped the tops of the petals by bending them backwards.
Then I started to roll (I started from the outside) rolled it between my fingers.
till I had something like this. I know Tim uses a toothpick for the rolling part, but that doesn't work for me.
Then I held the last part, bottom part in one hand, and started to tu the inner flower in the opposite direction, which makes it a little loose.
add a big blob of hot glue
I pressed the flower into the hot glue. Hold it there till it was cooled down.
I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.March 6, 2012 at 3:20 pm #159566
