For today I wanted to do a different shape of card. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with this design:

    front600.jpg

I'm sorry for the long, photo heavy tutorial. But here's how I created this card.

    1-11.jpg

    I Cut a piece of cardstock 6 x 12. Fold double.

    2-11.jpg

    3-11.jpg

Took the left coer and brought it to the other diagonal crease like this:

    4-11.jpg

    5-9.jpg

    Till it reaches the crease.

    6-10.jpg

Took the right side and folded it in like this.

    7-10.jpg

    till it reaches the side.

    8-9.jpg

I marked where I wanted my twine to tun through.

    9-9.jpg

Folded my card back open and marked my spot on the other side.

    10-6.jpg

I made a tiny slit, using my kraft knife.

    11-9.jpg

I wanted to use that gorgeous image on the left side of my card.

    12-9.jpg

I placed my paper over my card and made some marks, then cut it.

    13-9.jpg

    14-8.jpg

I wanted to use the butterflies and stiching on the right side of my card. So I took the piece of paper I cut out for the left side and………………..

    15-7.jpg

Placed it upside down on the paper. Used it as a template, and cut it out.

    16-7.jpg

    17-6.jpg

Slightly distressed and inked my edges.

    18-5.jpg

With my kraft knife I cut around the wings of 2 of the butterflies.

    19-4.jpg

cut a piece of paper that would go behind my butterflies.

    20-6.jpg

    Glued it behind my paper.

    21-3.jpg

I then glued both papers down. Inked the edges of the card too.

    22-3.jpg

Made my slits from the inside out.

    23-3.jpg

I fussy cut this tag, because I wanted to use it for my sentiment.

    24-2.jpg

I choose my papers for the left side front (under) of my card.

    25-2.jpg

Then I flipped my right side (front) over the left side and drew a line of what is the middle and the line of the design.

    26-1.jpg

I cut my papers for the front. Distressed and inked their edges and glued them down.

    27.jpg

Place a strip of music paper and some lace, which I colored using distress inks. (tattered rose and brushed corduroy)

    28.jpg

I took a paperclip to keep everything in place.

    29.jpg

Cut my tag to fit and inked the edges. Glued it down.

    30.jpg

    Also inked the backside.

    31.jpg

I then made a slit on the front, like in the picture above.

    32.jpg

I cut 2 pieces of twine (at least 12 inch) and run the first one like this.
From the outside in and made a few knots, which are visible on the outside

    33.jpg

Get the twine up, on the left side, like in the picture above.

    34.jpg

On the left side of the card, I run the twine from the inside out. knotted it on the inside too and placed a strip of paper over the end, to keep it in place.

    35.jpg

Gave the inside a layer of pink mist.

    36.jpg

Put my paperclip back on and tied a bow.

    37.jpg

To curl the twine: wrap it around a pencil and heat it for a few seconds using your heat tool.

    38.jpg

Choose my flowers and leaves and glued them down.

    39.jpg

When you want to mail this card, you can fold it like a normal square card.
For the finishing touch I added some stickles on the butterflies. Some pearl strand right under my tag and some liquid pearls in the bottom right coer. And I was done

    front600.jpg

    Here are some close ups:

    sideways600.jpg

    side600-1.jpg

    right side

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial. It is easier and quicker done, then all these pictures show.

*Make a card using this design of card.
    *Use some lace

Wow!! Love it Paulien!! So creative!!

"Some cars look like they're going fast when they're standing still. The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

                #168080

Thank you all sweeties. This is NOT a difficult one. really.
I just shot a few photo's extra, on how to bring the coers in. Actually…. It is quit simple with a lovely effect.
It is just a square card, that you fold like a roof top!! Then.. you take the top-coers, not to the middle, but you will slide them to the next line. Please try it out. You will see.
