I was talking to a lady this week and she told me she is reading a mystery series where the main character has a scrapbook stores. The author is Laura Childs, was curious if anyone here had read any of these books and if so what you thought. It looks like there are 8 so far in the series.

Yes, I have read some of them. They are pretty good. but, I could be biased since they involved scrapping. There is also another author, Joanna Campbell Slan. I read her first one and even met the author and had her sign my book at a local LSS.

I have read one of Laura Childs' books. It was entertaining, very very easy reading. I would not classify it in my favorite books pile but still entertaining.

"Some cars look like they're going fast when they're standing still. The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."

it looks like 'keepsake crimes' is the first one. I think I will load it to the kindle for the plane ride to denver, get me in a scrappy mood.

Love Laura Childs, I have all her scrapbooking & tea shop series. I wait until they are in paperback. I am really into cozy mysteries right now.

                yep-read them here too.
Don't involve a lot of thinking, but fun characters and quick reads

Ditto! Although does anyone know why these are so expensive?

Too bad they are not translated in Dutch, but it's good for my English….. lol!
Do you happen to know what the first episode is? Is the tea room a different serie then the scrapstore's?

                        #107052

Never mind…. found the website. http://www.laurachilds.com/scrapbookmys.html The older books are not that expensive here. It only takes 5 to 7 days for shipping. Keepsakes crimes is the first of the scrapbooking mysteries.

I don't know either, but it's annoying, isn't it? I wonder if it's up to the publisher????
