How has your scrapbook shopping changed from when you first started scrapping as your style has evolved?

I don’t buy all the paper I use to. I would buy every sheet in a line or those awful paper stacks and only use a few sheets. I’m also very selective in the embellishments I buy as well. However, I will still buy up all the flowers I see.

When I first started I would only buy stuff specifically used for scrapbooking. Now, when I go to Michaels, I head straight for the jewelry section- I love getting great embellies from there.

Also, I only buy stuff I know I will use. I used to buy something because it was on sale, but it’s stuff I never used. Unless I can visualize a purpose for it. it doesn’t go in the cart. πŸ™‚

I used to buy whole paper stacks too. Now, I hate those esp. if they are not double sided. I used to make sure the sheet of paper I bought had no bends or messed up edges. Now I don’t care because I will just distress it anyway! I don’t really buy paper at all. Now I may buy flowers but usually I only have to buy adhesives or some mixed media goody that I want to try.

More of a shabby scrapper now with dimension where I used to have sharp/straight edges (everything had to be perfect) and it was all flat. Use a lot of flowers, embellies and mixed media now. Never used to do much.

yes my scrapbooking has changed. Before I bought many many papers now I am more and buy media, and I love.

Ditto with the paper stacks. My first purchases were K & Co – beautiful designs and colors, but a good chunk of each stack usually ended up in my “purge” pile.
I’d still like to have entire collections of some lines (can’t take the urge to whoard out of a Savage!), but I’m becoming a bit more disciplined. I’m honestly trying to think twice about how my money is spent.

A clean house is the sign of a lazy scrapper.

When a new line would come out I would by two of everything. Not anymore! I have a lot of stuff just sitting around. So I just buy what I need.

I used to buy paper stacks also, and if I was in a scrapbook store, I had to have 2 of everything. I wanted everything with straight edges. Now I distress and paint etc. Now I don’t have to have every paper line that comes out. I am still a savage hoarder unfortunately!
