Have you ever used a tool incorrectly? If so, what happened?

For me it was the Tim Holtz Splatter tool we got in a kit. I don’t know what I did but ending up splattering my curtains…2 yards away mind you…and my face! LOL!

Lol! That’s funny! I’ll have to think about this one.

I’m not sure which tools I use incorrectly but I keep a glass of water on my table to soak paint brushes that I’ve knoced over so many times that I’ve lost count.

I’m trying to think if I ever used any tools wrong.

Does stabbing yourself with the scissors count?

                Haha, Kim! I suppose so!

Bec, I haven’t spilled over my brush water….yet! LOL!

                  I thought I posted this already –
Not really a tool, I suppose, but need to pump my mist bottles using my thumb, rather than my forefinger, so my aim isn’t the best even on my better days. Even using a box, I manage to get a fine mist on anything in the vicinity πŸ™‚

Bec, I did that once and changed to a mug with a much wider base and filled about 1/4 way up with water. So far, I’ve managed to avoid total disaster, although there have been some close calls.

Kim, um, yes, it counts. I’ve only stabbed my craft mat. More than once. Actually, I’m on my second one; the original was totally beyond usefulness.

A clean house is the sign of a lazy scrapper.

                    Ouch, Kim.

Well, Peggy, I’ve used my craft mat as a self healing mat, too. It did not heal itself! How rude!

I like your mug idea, Pegs. I use a plastic cup….not a good idea!

For my paint brushes I use one of those heavy glass sugar shakers. I got it from the $ store. I can fill it about half way up and not worry about tipping it over and it will hold several brushes.

I also got a small plastic tub I fill with water and 409 for my mask, so I don’t have to run to the sink all the time. I used to keep it on the floor, until I managed to step in it one day. After that I made room for it on the counter.

Yes, Jan, how rude pretty much sums it up.

Kim, I forgot about the tub of water. And that’s because I had mine on the floor and forgot it was there. Or my foot forgot it was there when it was really ready to be emptied. My foot immediately informed me that a short walk to into the kitchen was preferable, lol.

These are good ideas about the heavy mug. I currently use a large plastic cup, its tall and I always fill it up with nearly every brush I have πŸ˜€

I like the idea about the tub of water for the stencils, although with my clumsiness I’d find a way yo knock that over too.

Well, I’ve got one for this thread now. You know that Spellbinders die tool with the roller brush on one end and the paper piercer or spatula on the other?

Well, I thought it was a piece of crap because it did not remove the small bits of paper from my intricately cut die cut pieces. Ha! I was using it wrong. It works great if you leave the diecut IN the die while you roll the brush over the die!
