I use cardboard for the bigger square or rectangle things, but pop dots for the smaller things. I have various sizes and shapes of pop dots. I also cut up the left over stuff the pop dots are in and use that. No waste!
Depends. If I want a very solid backing of a larger space, I love to use packaging.
To give a bit of dimension to smaller items, I use foam tape. Maggi introduced me to foam packaging tape from Uline about a year and a half ago. It’s actually a huge roll; I have one black and one white and I don’t think I’ll ever run out!
I actually do not like foam tape. It’s most likely user error, but I find that my layers and pics buckle when I use it. But, I’m also funny about tape runners too- hate them. I use ZipDry and scor-tape for layers and pics.

I just finished a layout and ended up gluing together some old grunge board pieces to get the lift I wanted. I did this one other time, but other than that have always used pop dots. Guess I shouldn’t be so quick to recycle my card board.
