Hello, ladies! This is a layout I made using ONLY the Bohemian Spring MAIN kit. It's also based on the May sketch.
I would like to apologize in advance for the less than perfect pictures- I took them with my phone, but I got a new one last week, and I had to manually take the pictures of via the computer and they are read-only pictures, so I cannot edit them to make them pretty. 🙁
For the background, grab that lighter pink paper with the trellis print, and the paint from the kit. Grab some white gesso, black gesso, a paint brush, and some water. I am also using the plastic from the flowers from the main kit- it's going to be my tray for the paint.
I thin the paint with water to make it splatterable.
I did that with the black and white gesso too. Once it was watery enough, I took the paint brush and dipped it in, then held the paint brush over the paper and tapped it in random spots.
Let's make some layers!
Cut two strips (12X0.75 inches) from the dark pink paper, and use a border punch of your choice.
Cut out leaves from this piece of paper.
Make a double photo frame with this blue paper. My photo is roughly 3X5.
Cut out the words- this will be your title for your page. Keep this paper handy. It gets used.
Cut a circle out of the cardboard that comes in the kit. I used a Crafter's Workshop template, but you don't need it. It measure about six inches.
Use the circle as a template to cut as much of the blue paper that you cut the title from. It won't be a whole circle…
Now it's time to give the cardboard a little TLC!
Use the black paper as a guide to cut the edge off of the circle. Sprtiz some water on the cardboard to release the top layer of paper.
Once the middle layer is exposed, add some white paint, and let dry completely.
So, I forgot to take a picture, but now that the black paper has been used as a template, HEAVILY distress it around the edges, so that when it is adhered to the cardboard, you can see it.
Add black and blue chalk ink to the cardboard. Grab a pice of the green burlap and pull some of the strings off and bend it a little bit so it isn't so straight. After you determine where your circle is going to sit, place that burlap in a way that it looks like it's coming out from under the circle. Glue down the circle. Add the dark pink border strips to the top and bottom of the layout.
Glue the black circle to the cardboard. Distress with fingers to expose the cardboard. I also cut a piece of the green bling strip a bit larger than my picture. Because most of it would be covered up, I cut out the inside to make a frame. I set my flowers there to approximate where I want them to go.
Add the photo and double blue mats. Add some of the cut out leaves from the SEI paper, tucking them under the vines. Add some of the loose flowers from the vine pack.
Add the pink pearl flourish.
There are circles on the sketch, so I incorporated that by using some circle punches to punch out from the scraps of the papers I've used on the layout. I distressed and inked them, and added them by tucking them when I thought they looked good.
These are the elements I used for the coer with the garden sink.
I then added the ceiling lightbulbs with the cord hanging swirvy. Here's a closeup of that, but there is another light bulb on the layout
And, lastly, I out the title on.
And, that's it! 🙂 I hope you like it!May 6, 2014 at 11:15 pm #238363
I loved this one on the Blog Hop! Your cousin's daughter is really beautiful. I just love the beautiful flower cluster and bling combined with the light bulbs! I wouldn't have thought of putting the two together and it looks fantastic!May 7, 2014 at 12:55 am #238364May 7, 2014 at 2:21 am #238365May 7, 2014 at 5:06 am #238366May 7, 2014 at 6:37 am #238367May 7, 2014 at 3:03 pm #238362

The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."May 7, 2014 at 4:29 pm #238370
