In Sweden we always sing and celebrate Lucia, the queen of lights.

This year, at the last day at work with all my student, me and all my staff put togheter this! πŸ™‚

All the men had wigs and the girly part!

We had a real blast! *LOL*

And the student that took it with her phone says that we are the best teachers in the world!
    They are so cute!

IΒ΄m sorry to say I just been seen quickly, because I am staying very far to the right.

    Hope you can see this!

It looks like you all had fun, both the performers and the audience??
      What were the songs about?

ItΒ΄s christmascarols and a special Lucia-song. Normally itΒ΄s really a very special beautiful moment.
We all do this from we are really small and all the way to you grow old. Most of us watch it as grown ups. We did a little fun touch of it. All here in Sweden know the lyrics.
I wrote aboute it at scrapbook.com ones.

Fascinating. Thank you for showing us how you celebrate this. It looks like a ball!

Funny – I am not familiar with that side of St Lucia.
In the US, my church celebrates St Lucia on Dec 13th ( St Lucy as we call her), as the patroness of eye sight – thus light. Last year I lost most of my vision in one eye at this time of year and St Lucia was someone I held close to during the several months of recovery.

Light had a whole other meaning for me as I could not drive at night and hubby had to drive me everywhere like a crippled old lady.

Thnks for sharing. It is just fascinating to see how others selebrate and what they celebrate.

Jennifer, that's horrible, are you completely recovered now?

This year my daughter was the Lucia at her school.

And my son was one of the starboys:

Yes , Mostly. I have a tiny bit of blurriness. I had an ulcer on my coea. My doc thinks it was from contact solution that she swears is noted for problems. I think it was from a to contact lens.

Regardless – I remember read about Meg's bad fortune and now her aversion to glitter and it is along the same lines. One day I could see, and the next not so much. Lost 85% of my vision. I could not even see the largest letter on the eye chart. Yep I cried.

Once I got over the hump of needing surgery, I was in the eye docs office every 3 days for 2 months. I had 4 different meds I was using and all with different dosing intervals. I freaking had to create a spreadsheet every 3 days to keep them all straight.

I would drive home from work early and just cr because I was a danger on the roads with only 1 eye. No night vision.

BUT my eye doc kept assuring me that all would work out and I would recover and of course I have my strong faith and St. Lucy's assistance.

It's coincidental that this moing I was revisiting my memories about the whole eye thing a year ago.

Gosh when someone loses a sense, how aweful. But then this thread is about Lucia and the grand celebrations.

Camilla, she is adorable. She must have been so excited to be picked and the main role.

I have always wondered what the candles/wreath on the head means. Now I know.

Who says you just lea about scrapbook stuff here.

What a beautiful little girl, and such a beautiful celebration. It gave me chills to hear that awesome choir.

Jennifer….I am so thankful that you're OK….that is very frightening. I need to be more careful. I wear my contacts 24/7….I need to remove them as I'm supposed to. Maybe your story will help me get in a routine…..

          #78412

yes debbie, please make sur eyou remove them as directed. That can also cause the same kind of ulcer as I had. Many people are not as fortunate as I was to recover
