I haven't been around the past few weeks, work was crazy and then the holidays.
I work for the Chicago Fire Department and we lost 2 Firefighters and 17 more were injured 3 days before Christmas. Today starts a week long of wakes, and funerals. If you have a moment can you say a prayer for the families (both their immediate and Fire Department) of both these brave men.
I did know both of them. One worked at the same firehouse I used to be stationed at, the other had only been on the job for 18 months, and I helped train him.
Don't forget to tell your loved ones how much they mean to you, tomorrow is not promised.

I am so sorry for your lossDecember 27, 2010 at 6:30 pm #79664
Rest now my fallen brother
Lay soft your suffering back
Rest well and forever
Your memory shall not lack
Rest your tired hands
Wipe clean your weary brow
Rest with St. Florian
Your spirit now endowed
Rest here your breaking heart
We know you gave your all
Rest easy, you’ve done your part
You’ve answered your last call
Rest knowing that in god we sought
Oh lord, watch over another who just fell
Rest assured your troubled thought
As we ring the final bell.

"Some cars look like they're going fast when they're standing still. The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."
