      Hi Swirly girls,

I am your host for this month’s SGC !

As you know I live in the United Kingdom, so I’m trying to combine both our cultures in this challenge.
June is the first official month of Summer here in the UK and along with it has the Summer Solstice and the longest day on the 20th (of sunlight). Having done a little research I also notice its the ‘Great Outdoors’ month in the USA.

So lets do some layouts/projects based on being outdoors, those holiday snaps, an outdoor activity, your family outdoors, your favourite outdoors place – anything to do with being outdoors!

BUT lets also do something else too! I’m adding a bingo board – bingo is quite a popular pastime here in the UK. We are going to do a ‘craft’ version. The idea is you choose one line, vertical, horizontal or a diagonal line of four items. You then HAVE to add/use these on your layout/project, along with other embellishments you chose.

      So to recap –
      * subject is ‘outdoors’
      * keep it summery – lets encourage summer to arrive
      * use 1 straight line of four from the Bingo board
      * tell me which line you have chosen when you post your project
      * post you project/layout on here and on the Facebook gallery in the provided album

This challenge closes at midnight June 30th. We will then vote on our one favourite for the winner, who will receive a RAK from me!

I have done two samples to inspire you, using two different lines from the bingo board.

The first is about one of my favourite places and a favourite thing to do – walking in the countryside and in this instance visiting the bluebell woods.
For this layout I used the line:
      Diamond shape/ Journaling/ Garden Architecture/ Leaves & Foliage

This second layout I have used a photo of my family on our summer holiday stood on the seafront at Torquay 2014. For this layout I have used the line from the Bingo board:
      Use a Die/ Paper Folding/ Chipboard/ Leaves & Foliage.

      So lets get creating!
I cant wait to see what lines you use from the Bingo Board!

          And your examples are gorgeous!!!!

Bec, how cold is your winter? I’m imagining a lot of rain, not as much sun…

Luckily it doesn’t get too cold here, there is no frosts or snow. Its definitely not as cold as the New Zealand winters I grew up with. But I’m very soft and always feel the cold so anything less than 15 degrees (60 F) is freezing for me

This is a great challenge Ginny and your layouts are fabulous! June is a little bit slower month for me, so I will hopefully get something done for this!

Arh Bec it seems very strange talking about winter in June! Mind you tonight it is only 14 degrees here and I’ve put the heating on because I’m cold and this is meant to be summer! I hope we can whisk you back to summer with this challenge!

                      ginny 🙂

                        Wow!!!
Well, it usually gets into the high 80’s (about 29 – 30C) all summer long here and the humidity is so thick you could cut it with a knife.
Which is why I envy the rest of you. I’d love 75 degree weather; I can certainly enjoy 60°, though.

                          I’m working on my page!

That winter weather sounds wonderful to me!!! Over 100 degrees here, like being in an oven! Not humid though thank goodness.

                          Fun challenge Ginny…Thanks…
