I was so extremely disappointed with the release of the new book by Dyan Reaveley from CHA. The ads say it is just like Dyan by your side showing you how to she creates. I feel like they should have called it what it was — hey Ranger wanted me to make this to sell their product. Watch her on UTUBE OR her video on her Blog. I guess my bubble burst because I THINK she is extremely talented but commercialism has taken over, She has a line of paint that matches her ink colors — more i think — but she can't release them and they are discontinued, They are scheduled to be released in a few years. I guess they will interfer with Claudines new release and Tim's stuff, Seems to me there is room for everyone.
There are some great mixed media books out there but this is not one of them I feel like sending a bill to Ranger or her.August 25, 2012 at 7:33 am #177923August 25, 2012 at 12:53 pm #177924
I don't care for her style so I wouldn't have bought it anyway. But thanks for the infoAugust 25, 2012 at 6:16 pm #177925
Yikes! Never even heard of her!
"Some cars look like they're going fast when they're standing still. The Camaro looks like it's going to beat you unconscious, put you in a silly hat, invite a couple of other Camaros over to take photos of you, then e-mail them to all your friends and co-workers. Call me crazy, but I like that in a car."August 27, 2012 at 3:24 pm #177922
Kathy, I'm sorry for your disappointment. I'm sorta scrapfasting right now, so I never looked into her book, figuring that all techniques would be available on her blog.
Not to defend her (well, maybe I am defending her, LOL), but even Tim's Compodiums and 12 Tags series are really there to push products. I see the books as handy references, that's all.August 27, 2012 at 7:54 pm #177915
Pretty sure she is coming to a LSS and I wanted to take a tag class, but it is on a Tuesday moing, so I can't go, cause you know, I gotta work instead…August 27, 2012 at 10:48 pm #177916

hm, me not so much. I can't stand it that whenever you add aother layer of color, the first layer reacts. How do you guys keep that from happening?August 28, 2012 at 11:39 am #177919
I haven't played with them enough, but I think it is supposed to be that way…..August 28, 2012 at 12:43 pm #177920
What Lynne said. If you CAN get a class with her, GO; she's amazing!!!!!
Paulien, Manda's right. They are water-based and will bleed into each other. If you blot each layer well, not as much, but they will always react.August 29, 2012 at 6:41 pm #177921
I love her stuff and own almost everything — which is why I was so disappointed. Her tutorials are great.August 29, 2012 at 8:45 pm #177914
